A wedding in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district was called off after the groom received death threats from the bride’s friend. The friend, who also sent a picture of himself with the bride, warned the groom to call off the wedding, leading the groom to return the advance payment of one lakh rupees. The bride’s mother is now seeking action, having reported the matter to both the local police station and the cybercrime cell. The incident occurred in the Jichho village of Lodipur police station area. The friend, a resident of Navgachia, had been in contact with the groom via social media, issuing threats and demanding the groom leave the bride. The groom, fearing for his life, decided to cancel the wedding. The bride’s mother said her daughter’s friend had sent a photo with the daughter and was blackmailing the family.
