If you’re in the market for a new SUV, it might be worth holding off for a bit. Several manufacturers are preparing to launch updated models and facelifts, potentially offering you a better choice. Models like the Mahindra Thar (3-door) and XUV700 are expected to receive significant updates.
Mahindra is set to refresh the 3-door Thar. Based on recently spotted test mules, the new Thar will feature a redesigned front fascia inspired by the Thar Roxx. Expect a range of new features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a digital driver’s display, and ventilated seats, along with wireless charging and automatic climate control. Safety upgrades will include a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS features. Engine options are anticipated to remain the same, with petrol and diesel choices available in both rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive configurations.
Following the Thar, Mahindra will also update the XUV700. Spy shots suggest minor design tweaks, including a revised front fascia, while maintaining its familiar silhouette. The updated XUV700 is expected to feature new headlights and a front fascia redesign.
Skoda is also planning updates. The Slavia is expected to get a facelift with a digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera system, and a premium audio system. The Kushaq is also slated for a mid-cycle update, featuring a major facelift. The Kushaq will retain its current powertrain options but will be equipped with features like electronic parking brakes, a larger digital instrument panel, and Level 2 ADAS. Cosmetic changes include a redesigned front fascia and interior updates.
Renault is gearing up to facelift the Triber and Kiger. The overall design is expected to remain largely unchanged, but with a revised front fascia, refreshed alloy wheels, and LED lighting. The interiors will likely receive enhancements to improve features and competitiveness. Furthermore, Renault is planning a new facelift for the Duster. The Duster has already been spotted in testing in Europe and is expected to launch in India soon. Nissan also plans to launch a rebranded version of the Duster.
