A major fire engulfed the set of the popular television series ‘Anupamaa’, starring Rupali Ganguly, early on Monday, June 23, in Mumbai’s Goregaon East Film City. Thankfully, the incident resulted in no injuries. The fire originated in the tent area of the set, situated behind the Marathi Bigg Boss set. Emergency services received the call around 6:10 AM. The blaze caused significant damage, consuming electric wiring, plastics, iron and decorative materials, cameras, costumes, and lighting equipment. Approximately 5,000 square feet of the ‘Anupamaa’ studio was affected. The production company, Shahi Production, issued a statement confirming the absence of casualties and urged the public to disregard unsubstantiated rumors. The cause of the fire is under investigation, as the set was not in use and main power was off. The producers expressed gratitude for the support received from various industry associations, peers, and well-wishers. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called for a high-level inquiry into the incident.
