Ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections later this year, former minister Renu Kushwaha, along with her husband Vijay Kushwaha, has joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The announcement was made at a function held in Patna on Wednesday, June 25th, in the presence of Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition and former Deputy Chief Minister. Renu Kushwaha’s move is seen as significant, with the RJD aiming to consolidate its support base. Several other leaders also joined the RJD including Raghvendra Singh Kushwaha, the former state president of Pappu Yadav’s Jan Adhikar Party (JAP).
