A student in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, was murdered, and his face was burned with acid. The body of Abhishek Kumar (21), who had been missing for two days from Zero Mile in Ahiaur, was found in the Budhi Gandak river in Motipur on Wednesday. The victim’s hands and feet were tied, and his nails were removed. Ahiaur police, with the assistance of Motipur police, recovered the body from Kodariya Ghat near Moresandi village and sent it to SKMCH for a post-mortem. It is alleged that a friend of the deceased had borrowed five lakh rupees from him. Ahiaur police reported that the student had gone missing two days prior. His father filed a complaint at the police station. Abhishek’s hands and feet were tied behind his back with a rope, his nails were removed, and there were deep wounds on his neck. The body was likely dumped in the river after the murder. Ahiaur police station in-charge Rohan Kumar stated that the murderers burned the face with acid to prevent identification. Abhishek’s father, Vinod Rai, a resident of Rajepur, East Champaran, filed an FIR on Tuesday. He has named 12 people, including Abhishek’s friend and his family, alleging murder. Vinod Rai said that his son Abhishek was studying in Ahiaur. He last spoke to him on June 23. The next morning, there was no communication. The mobile was switched off. He then called Nitish, who informed him that Ayush had taken Abhishek to a party the previous night, and he hadn’t returned. On June 24, a case was registered at the police station. Ayush had borrowed five lakh rupees from Abhishek to open a hotel. When pressured to return the money, Ayush allegedly took his son with the intention of murder, first taking him to a hotel, feeding him, and then, along with his associates, brutally killing him and throwing the body in the river. Upon receiving the news of the body’s recovery, the family was in distress. Ahiaur police reported that the student had disappeared two days prior. His father filed a complaint at the police station. Abhishek’s hands and feet were tied behind his back with a rope, his nails were removed, and there were deep wounds on his neck. City DSC-2 Vineeta Sinha stated that a student had been brutally murdered. The police are taking action based on the father’s application and the statements of the family members. The police are working to arrest the accused and will soon uncover the case.
