As June nears its end, the weather has presented a mixed bag of conditions. The month saw scorching heat in Delhi-NCR, followed by refreshing showers that provided respite. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts haven’t always been accurate, with instances where the predicted thunderstorms in Delhi didn’t materialize into rain.
Today, June 27th, the weather department anticipates thunderstorms with rain in Delhi and surrounding areas. The minimum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 29 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD, Delhi is likely to experience rain for the next six days, until July 1st.
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Goa, central Maharashtra, and Gujarat over the next seven days. From June 27th to July 2nd, heavy rainfall is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and eastern Rajasthan. Western Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir may experience heavy rainfall from June 27th to 29th, and Uttar Pradesh from June 28th to July 2nd.
Heavy rainfall is predicted in Jammu and Kashmir on June 27th, eastern Rajasthan from June 27th to 28th, Uttarakhand from June 27th to 30th, and Punjab on June 27th and 29th. Light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds of 30-40 kmph, are expected in most parts of northwest India.
Heavy rainfall is expected in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand from June 27th to July 2nd. Coastal West Bengal from June 27th to 30th, and Vidarbha on June 27th, may also experience heavy rainfall. Sikkim and Bihar are expected to receive heavy rainfall from June 27th to 30th.
Furthermore, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha are likely to witness rainfall accompanied by strong winds of 40-50 kmph from June 27th to July 1st. Northeast India is expected to continue experiencing thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall over the next seven days. Arunachal Pradesh is forecast to receive very heavy rainfall on June 30th. Kerala from June 27th to 29th, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu from June 27th to 28th, are also expected to have heavy rainfall.
