A shocking incident unfolded in the Gumla district of Jharkhand, where a husband, driven to rage by his wife’s illicit affair, murdered her lover with an axe. The perpetrator, along with his wife, fled the scene after committing the crime. The deceased has been identified as Bittu Nayak. The accused husband is named Kunwar Nayak. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Palakot police station.
Upon receiving the information, the Palakot police took possession of the deceased’s body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The police are currently conducting raids to apprehend Kunwar Nayak and his wife. According to initial reports, Bittu Nayak, a resident of Tegaria village in the Palakot police station area, was involved in an affair with the wife of Kunwar Nayak, also a resident of the same village.
Kunwar Nayak had previously warned Bittu Nayak to stay away from his wife. However, despite the warnings, Bittu Nayak continued to visit Kunwar Nayak’s wife, particularly when Kunwar Nayak was away. The affair became a subject of discussion within the village. On one occasion, Kunwar Nayak caught his wife and Bittu Nayak together. Overcome with anger, he fatally attacked Bittu Nayak with a sharp axe kept at home and then escaped with his wife.
This incident mirrors a similar case in Khunti. Earlier, in Arki, a woman named Chandu Soy killed her husband, Hankhu Topno, after discovering another woman in their home.
