In a move to bolster wellness initiatives, NALCO has established ‘Prakriti Yoga Bhoomi,’ a dedicated yoga space situated within the serene Mahatma Gandhi Park in Puri. The space was inaugurated on the 11th International Day of Yoga by Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, alongside Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattanayak, Director (HR). This initiative underscores NALCO’s commitment to promoting health and well-being within the community.
Mahatma Gandhi Park in Puri, already a popular spot for residents, now features the yoga space. Regular visitors have welcomed the addition, appreciating the natural setting that encourages yoga practice. Dignitaries also participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative by planting saplings to promote environmental preservation.
Across the nation, NALCO employees joined the International Day of Yoga celebrations. Mass yoga camps were organized at the Corporate Headquarters in Bhubaneswar, the Smelter and Power Complex at Angul, and the Mines & Refinery Complex at Damanjodi, along with regional offices and Port facilities in Vizag. Over 3,000 participants, including employees, families, CISF personnel, school children, and associates, engaged in yoga sessions, reaffirming the company’s dedication to physical and mental well-being.
