Samsung has launched its Exynos 2500 chipset, positioning it as a key component for its upcoming flagship smartphones. Built on a 3nm GAA process, the Exynos 2500 features a 10-core CPU configuration that includes one high-performance Cortex-X5 core, two Cortex-A725 cores, five Cortex-A725 cores, and two Cortex-A520 cores. The new chip also incorporates the Xclipse 950 GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture, which supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing. This enables 4K or WQUXGA displays at 120Hz and promises a 28 percent increase in frame rates for ray-traced games. The Exynos 2500 also boasts a 24K MAC NPU for AI tasks, offering up to 59 trillion operations per second. It supports LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, and an image signal processor capable of handling up to 320MP single camera setups or 8K video recording. Connectivity features include a 5G modem with speeds up to 12.1Gbps, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and satellite connectivity. The chip is expected to debut in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is planned for next month, though availability may be limited due to manufacturing challenges.
